Green Stripe News produces short, high-quality social media videos that tell true stories of people hurt by racism, sexism, and xenophobia.

As hate and violence become more commonplace, written accounts and statistics resonate less and less. We believe that videos of real stories of real people will continue to affect people, preventing them from compartmentalizing what is potentially the most catastrophic turn of events in America’s history.

Stories

Freddie Gray died when his neck was broken in the back of a police transport van. He had been restrained with handcuffs and leg irons, but not a seat belt. The death set off several days of rioting in Baltimore.

Samuel

Ray Tensing, then a University of Cincinnati police officer, was indicted in July 2015 on a murder charge in the fatal shooting of Samuel DuBose, who was unarmed when he was pulled over for a traffic stop.

Michael

Michael Brown Jr., a black teenager, was gunned down by a white police officer in Ferguson, Mo., after stealing cigarillos from a convenience store.
